Edge Computing and the 6G Horizon

Reducing Latency in a Hyper-Connected World

While 5G is still being optimized, the groundwork for 6G and Edge Computing is being laid. The goal is to move data processing away from centralized cloud servers and closer to the source—the “edge” of the network.

For technologies like autonomous vehicles and remote robotic surgery, a delay of even a few milliseconds can be catastrophic. Edge computing allows for near-instantaneous data processing, enabling a future where the physical and digital worlds react to one another in true real-time.
