This “Sovereign Cloud” movement ensures that the intellectual property generated by a country’s AI stays within its borders.

Techniques like Federated Learning and Homomorphic Encryption are finally moving into the mainstream. These technologies allow an AI to “learn” from a dataset without ever actually seeing the raw data. For example, a hospital can use AI to identify patterns in patient records without the records ever leaving the hospital’s secure internal network.
